Ganryu

Ganryu is a sumo wrestler, who was corrupt and fixed fights for money. When it was revealed he was banned from sumo wrestling competitions. Since the only thing he knew is how to fight he was hired by Heihachi Mishima as a bodyguard. His actions caught the attention of Yoshimitsu, who didn't like Ganryu's corrupt character. During the first King Of Iron Fist Tournament Yoshimitsu defeated Ganryu and stole all his money and gave it the poor people.

During the second King Of Iron Fist Tournament Ganryu was employed by Kazuya Mishima. During this tournament Ganryu met Michelle Chang and fell in love with her. But Michelle didn't accept his feelings and just beat him up. After the fall of Kazuya by the hands of Heihachi, Ganryu decides to return to Japan.

After some time the ban on Ganryu was lifted and he could return to sumo wrestling once more. He became the youngest sumo wrestler to get the rank of Ozeki.

He opened a dojo in Hawaii and started planning his retirement. But once he saw a video of Julia Chang participating in the fourth King Of Iron Fist Tournament. He fell in love with her, just like with Michelle.

He later heard that Julia will be participating in the fifth King Of Iron Fist Tournament to retrieve reforestation data. Ganryu received an invitation to this tournament as well and decided to enter too, to retrieve the same data. His plan was to retrieve the data for Julia and make her fall in love with him for his courageous actions.

He managed to find the data. When he met Julia to give her the disc he also proposed to her, but she turned him down and left with the data. Ganryu returned to Hawaii and started his own restaurant, but it wasn't popular and soon Ganryu's dept grew. He soon heard of the sixth King Of Iron Fist Tournament and decides to participate in order to advertise his new restaurant.
