Gen

Gen is a Kung Fu master from China. He is a good friend of Chun-Li's father and he also trained her in her youth.

He enters the first World Warriors tournament to find worthy opponents. He didn't find any and returned to China. He later found out, that he's dyeing from cancer. He decides to fight Shadaloo, in hopes to meet an opponent who is worthy to take his life in battle.

He later hears about Akuma and decides to find him. He eventually finds him and they fight. Akuma used his Shun Goku Satsu technique on Gen, but because Gen emptied his soul in the right moment he survived. Akuma later realized, that Gen was sick and decided to break off the battle.

Gen and Akuma had a few more confrontation, but Gen survived all of them.

Later Gen enters the S.I.N. tournament still in search of an opponent. He saves Chun-Li during S.I.N. base explosion. He witnesses the fight between Gouken and Akuma. gen decides not to die until the final battle.

He later trains Yun and Yang.
