Kim Kaphwan

Kim Kaphwan is a champion in Tae Kwon Do and a national hero. He has two sons: Kim Dong Hwan and Kim Jae Hoon. He travelled to Southtown to find worthy opponents in the King Of Fighters tournament hosted by Krauser. There he met Terry Bogard, with whom he became good friends.

Because of his legendary reputation in Korea he managed to get the authorities give him custody over two convicts: Chang Koehan and Choi Bounge. He wants change their evil ways and rehabilitate them. To do so he enters them and himself in the King Of Fighters tournaments.

With time Chang and Choi grew to respect Kim and his methods. In the King Of Fighters XI tournament they persuaded him to join the tournament with Terry and Duck King in the same team.

After seeing success in rehabilitating Chang and Choi Kim decides to take on new former criminals: Raiden and Hwa Jai. He met them in Southtown, and still thinking they worked for Geese, he challenged them to change their ways.

The two men were surprised over Kim's accusations, because none of the two men still worked for Geese. Despite this they decide to join with him in the King Of Fighters XIII tournament, because they saw this as a good opportunity to promote themselves.

The new team, formed by Kim, now was a source for media gossip, considering the team's members.
