Kitana

Kitana is the princess of Edenia. She's over 10000 years old, but this is considered very young in her home realm.

When she was still an infant, her father, the king of Edenia, was killed by Shao Khan. After this Shao Khan married her mother, Sindel, and adopted Kitana as his own daughter to strengthen his rule over Edenia. She grew up being his personal assassin. Feeling, that Kitana will one day find out, that he is not her real father, Shao Khan ordered Shang Tsung to create a clone of her, but the creation process went wrong and the result was a monster named Mileena.

For years Kitana believed, that Shao Khan was her father and she killed in his name together with her best friend Jade and her "sister" Mileena. But in time Kitana started to have visions, which showed her the truth about her family. She was disgusted with Shao Khan. She decided, that she will kill Shao Khan and end his rule, but she had to wait for the right moment to do so. Because of this she continued to follow Shao Khan's orders.

In the next tournament, after Shang Tsung's defeat, Kitana tried to contact one of Earthrealms warriors to help her overthrow Shao Khan. But she was confronted by Mileena. Kitana managed to kill her, but this showed her true intentions.

When Shao Khan started the invasion of Earthrealm, he imprisoned Kitana, but she managed to escape and join forces with Earth warriors against the forces of Outworld. When Khan found out, that Kitana escaped, he send Jade and Reptile to recapture her. When Kitana was attacked by Jade, she managed to persuade her to join the side of good. Together they managed to defeat Reptile and save the resurrected mother, Queen Sindel, from Shao Khan's evil mind control.

Soon Edenia faced a new danger. Shinnok and Quan Chi managed to enter Edenia from Netherrealm and take over the realm. Shinnok resurrected Mileena and imprisoned Kitana. But the Edenian princess managed to escape once again and join the forces of Earthrealm to battle the new evil.

After Shinnok's defeated, Kitana offered Liu Kang, who was her love interest, to rule Edenia together with her as King and Queen, but he refused, because he felt as Earth's Champion he should stay in Earthrealm.

When she heard, that Shao Khan had survived and planned to once again take control over the realms, Kitana managed to convince the Shokan race and the Minotaur race to finally come to a truce. After this leading the attack against Khan's forces alongside Goro, Kitana's army was very successful, but because Noob Saibot managed to fatally wound Goro, the battle ended in a draw.

She soon was visited by Kung Lao, who informed her about The Deadly alliance, and that Quan Chi together with Shang Tsung already killed Shao Khan and Liu Kang. Kitana was in grief over Liu Kang's death, but she still joined the fight against The Deadly Alliance. But the forces of good were defeated and killed by the two sorcerers. But after Onaga's return she and other warriors were resurrected by Onaga's power to bring the dead back to life. Kitana was under the control of The Dragon King and helped him capture and imprison her own mother, Sindel.

But Liu Kang's spirit together with Ermac managed to set free all the warriors, who were under Onaga's control.

After this Kitana travelled back to Edenia, where she encountered Blaze, who told her, that a great danger is coming and that she should gather forces to counter it. Although Kitana felt discouraged about the amount of evil to battle in the world, Blaze assured her, that everything will come to end soon.

When the Armageddon came Kitana was fighting on the side of good, but was killed with everyone else. After Raiden changed the course of time it was revealed, that Kitana was present, together with her friend Jade, during the last Mortal Kombat tournament, which was hosted by Shang Tsung.

Kitana did not directly participate during the tournament, but was assigned to assassinate any Earthrealm warriors before the actual tournament fights. Kitana was tasked to kill Liu Kang before he enters the ring, but was defeated by him. Liu Kang spared her life and told her, that this fight never happened.

After this Kitana started to doubt herself and her fathers, Shao Khans, actions against Earthrealm. When Shao Khan started the next tournament Kitana met Raiden, who told her to go the flesh pits, where she was forbidden to enter. There she found out, that Shang Tsung created a clone of her using Tarkatan blood. One of the clones, who is now known as Mileena, attacked her. Kitana managed to defeat her and then Shang Tsung himself. Kitana brought Shang Tsung to Shao Khan telling him of what she had found out about his cloning attempts. To her surprise she finds out that it was ordered by Shao Khan himself.

Shao Khan ordered to execute Kitana during the tournament, but Liu Kang managed to save her and defeat Shao Khan. After Liu Kang's victory Kitana joined the forces of Earthrealm and helped them fight the forces of Outworld, when Shao Khan started his invasion of Earthrealm.

When the forces of Earthrealm were waiting for the arrival of Raiden and Liu Kang from their meeting with The Elder Gods, they were attacked by The Lin Kuei. They managed to defeat the clan, but to Kitana's surprise, Sindel, her ressurected mother, attacked them as well and killed almost every Earthrealm warrior including Kitana.

It was later reveald, that Kitana's soul is now in Netherrealm under the control of Quan Chi.
